Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

If you have a course-related query, please check the frequently asked questions below.

Q: Are your courses cancelled this year, because of the coronavirus pandemic?

A: No. Although we have suspended our attendance courses for 2020, each of our programmes will be available online. The booking procedure for the online courses is the same as for the attendance courses.

Q: Are the fees for your online courses the same as for the attendance courses?

A: Yes. The online programmes include exactly the same content, delivered by Dr Johns. In addition, the online courses contain extra material including bonus (full-length) lectures, dissection videos and self-test quizzes.

Q: Where can I find a review of your courses?

A: Please see the feedback page which contains links to course reviews, as well as uploaded delegate feedback forms, scores and other comments. If you would like to submit your own review, please get in touch.

Q: Which course should I choose?

A: This depends on your level of background knowledge and what you want to get out of the course. Please see the course tab for an 'at a glance' comparison of our currently available courses.

Q: Do any of your courses include practical sessions?

A: Most of our courses are lecture-based, but an optional dissection room practical session is sometimes offered on the afternoon prior to our three-day human brain anatomy course, usually in the summer session.

Q: Will I receive a certificate of attendance?

A: Yes, all delegates receive a printed certificate of attendance at the end of the course.

Q: Are your courses CPD accredited?

A: Our courses do not have specific CPD accreditation (e.g. from the Royal College of Physicians, Surgeons, Radiologists or Psychiatrists) as the audience is very varied, but it should be possible for you to self-accredit on the basis of 1 CPD point per hour taught.

Q: Can you recommend a good place to stay?

A: We do not keep a list of recommended hotels or other places to stay during the course, but there are numerous options that are close to the course venues.

Q: Do you offer student discounts, bursaries or reduced course fees?

A: Our courses are the same price for all delegates, many of whom are students in higher education.

Q: Will I get a handout or copy of the lecture slides?

A: A full-colour course handbook (containing all of the lecture slides) is provided for the human brain anatomy (3-day) course and for the limbic brain anatomy (2-day) course.

Q: How can I find out the dates of the next course?

A: The best way is to sign up to our newsletter (link below) which is used to announce the dates of all of our courses as soon as they are available.

Q: I would like to pay for a course using my credit card - can I give my details over the phone?

A: We do not have a contact telephone number and cannot accept credit card payments over the telephone, but credit and debit card payments can be made via the website (please note: a PayPal account is not required).

Q: I have a course-related query: can I speak to someone on the telephone?

A: We are not able to answer course-related queries or take credit card payments over the telephone. The best way to get in touch with us is via email -- and we usually respond to queries within 24 hours.

Q: Where can I find free neuroanatomy questions and quizzes?

A: Check out our e-learning page which will be used to provide free neuroanatomy quizzes and other learning materials. You can also download a copy of the Neurocourses UK neuroanatomy crossword!

Q: Can I register for the 'hands-on' neuroanatomy practical if I am not attending the 3-day course?

A: No, the anatomy practical is an optional addition to the 3-day course. It is not a stand-alone session.

Q: I have registered for the 3-day human brain anatomy course without the optional anatomy practical session. Can I upgrade my booking to also attend the practical?

A: Yes, if you have an exisiting 3-day course registration you can add the optional practical to your booking.
